As Green As It Gets – Guatemala

I have been posting based on my daily experience here. But today, I would like to specifically mention the agency that made my jade workshop happen. I would like to mention them specifically because I agree with their approach to tourism: http://www.asgreenasitgets.org/.

I finally received the jade pendant that I (half) did last friday. Francesco, the artists, polished it for me and did all the finishing touches (due to time constraint). He did a much more amazing job than me for sure.

The second reason I would like to mention As Green As It Gets ™ is because today I was brought to a supposedly working coffee finca (plantation) and honestly it is not of any value add at all. It is pretty much a museum and a shop. I believe that if anyone would like to really learn about coffee, they should check out AGAIG by working with a small coffee grower. One can kill three birds with one stone: learn about coffee, practice one’s spanish, and support a small impoverished community. Need I say more?
